Other Activity: one in tree, then it floats down and picks up a stick and brings it to the nest. we could view both birds in the nest. A third comes along and flies near the nest. The one from the tree defends the nest with his wings. Then flies at the "intruder" In trader leaves, he returns to the tower mid way. We watch as they "talk" with each other. unbelievably 2 "new" osprey appear and our bird takes off after them. Then there is a fourth osprey flying above the tower across the river. A fifth one appears with fish in talons. Our "boy" successfully defended his territory.
Observation Method: foot/binoculars
General Comments: We often see two Osprey fly by SLM-02 The nest is fully occupies and the "male" seems to keep interlopers at bay. It is very active here in Salem. The fishing must be good!!
