Annual Fund
This year, we are focused on our shared commitment to protecting the landscapes that bring beauty, peace, and inspiration to our lives
Old Barn Farm Project
Greenbelt has an exciting opportunity to acquire and permanently protect approximately 34 acres of vital farmland, wildlife habitat, and scenic land in the communities of Boxford (28 acres) and North Andover (6 acres). The Old Barn Farm property will conserve nearly one-third of the remaining unprotected acreage at Barker Farm — a historic working farm and orchard in continuous operation since 1642 — as well as adjoining wildlife habitat and scenic land.
Magnolia Reserve Project
Greenbelt is working to permanently protect approximately 94 acres of ecologically significant land in Gloucester. The Magnolia Reserve property borders Ravenswood Park and connects to other conservation lands owned by the City of Gloucester and Greenbelt. Protecting this land will knit these conserved areas together, strengthening habitat connectivity and ensuring the long-term integrity of this diverse, forested landscape.
Osprey Program
Since 2008, Greenbelt’s Osprey Conservation Program has supported Osprey recovery north of Boston by maintaining nesting platforms, tracking breeding activity, educating the public, and collaborating on research projects. Once an endangered species, Osprey are now a familiar sight in Essex County.
