This year, we are focused on protecting the future of farming in Essex County. Agricultural land provides far more than easy access to fresh, locally grown food — it also includes forests, wetlands, pastures, and other natural habitats that clean our air and water, reduce flood risks, moderate extreme heat, store carbon, and support wildlife. By conserving these diverse landscapes, we protect the environment, strengthen the local economy, and enhance the well-being of our communities.

These initiatives are part of our broader land conservation efforts that, with the help of generous supporters like you, has enabled Greenbelt to protect more than 22,500 acres to date.
