For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: Too far away to see any chicks. Lots of boats in the cove with plenty on people walking on the island. Both osprey would leave the nest when disturbed by people under the nest.

Other Activity: Olivia was on the nest & Ollie was on his branch outside our window having lunch. He started chirping like he does when there is a visitor in the area and when I looked out a visitor landed on the branch next to Ollie. After a minute Ollie flew off & came charging back at the visitor. They went at each other in mid air & the visitor flew off & Ollie went over to a tree across the river.

Other Activity: Not sure if she was feeding the chix, too. Mostly she was just rearranging the nest. I never saw her actually feeding the chix, but I did see her feeding herself a few times.

General Comments: The only way I can really confirm what's going on is to use the zoom video function on my camera and play it back on my widescreen monitor. Today's video is the first time I could confirm that there is a 2nd chick on the nest.

Other Activity: Adults sitting above the chicks, looking down on them. 2 small heads poking up, looks about 1 1/2 old maybe 2 weeks. Birds are feathered, but still showing the underdeveloped chicken wings. Heads are covered with black down though.
