For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Fledgling in nest, pumping wings and off it went. Up into a tree. Dad came through calling and settled just below the fledgling. A quick note, the female on nest #1 was there this morning with a fish, a flounder to be exact.

Other Activity: One osprey on platform perch and one osprey perched on side marsh perch. A fair amount of nesting material observed on platform. A bit in disarray.

Other Activity: Three sighted on transmission towers one to the NW (left) of SAU-10 two on SAU-10 transmission tower and one on the transmission tower to the right.
Observation Method: Pulled into Gibson Point parking lot and observed from river’s edge.
General Comments: Found new nest straight out - and across the river from the parking area. Difficult to tell if this was an active nest this year. Will follow up at this location for the 2027 season.
