For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: I first watched the nest from Raddin St. and there was no sign of anyone. Then I drove around to Margin St. to see it from an different side and still no sign of anyone.

Weather Conditions: 60°F overcast skies wind SE @ 6mph
Other Activity: During first hour only one adult visible on nest. Later second adult arrived with fish. After leaving fish with other adult it moved to perch., while adult on nest appeared to be be feeding chicks.
Observation Method: From boat and on foot.
General Comments: Later we observed a third Osprey arrive on scene, then an aerial battle ensued and the third departed.

Other Activity: male osprey perched on other nest platform, flew to females nest perch Female on edge of of nest feeding herself or chicks. A little later she lay back down in nest.

Other Activity: One osprey and one chick visible when I arrived. About 10 min later 2nd osprey landed with fish in talons and seemed to be feeding chick(s?). Could no longer see chick with the 2 adults on nest but think they weren't eating themselves but feeding young.

Other Activity: Male and female in the nest, Male is feeding 3 chicks, one of which is much smaller than the others, but is getting fed as well. Female is rearranging sticks in the nest. These are very good parents.
