For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Pauline is sticking to one side of the nest and creating an “umbrella” with her wings. Last year she did that to shield young chicks from the heat. I have not yet caught sight of the chicks but my assumption is two as Pauline is leaning down and pecking in two different spots. Bob is bringing in Tons of fish and spending lots of time on the nest with her.

Weather Conditions: 91f, 14mph, 40%hum, sunny, low tide

Other Activity: 2 OSPR perched on nest, then one flew away and perched on a lower run of the tower; the 1st OSPR continued standing in the nest and appeared to be tending to eggs or chicks as her head bobbed up and down while intermittently looking around; she was not incubating.

Other Activity: Male on nearby piling the whole time. Female incubating and then about 20 minutes later reacted to something in the nest. She tended to it for several minutes then eventually settled in to incubate.
