For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: two Osprey on nest today...seem to be bonded compared to last time here. Both on nest. This was told to me by the land owners observation. I did not witness it but he did say they are here every day.

Weather Conditions: 70F, 87%humid, 8 mph wind, hi tide, overcast

Other Activity: OSPR1 was perched on nest feeding itself, OSPR2 was perched on another tower; OSPR3 flew in and landed on the nest, quickly followed by OSPR4. Hard to tell them apart, but it appeared that at least one fledgling was feeding itself before one of the OSPRs flew away, leaving two birds in the nest. One (probably a fledgling) was practicing flapping its wings.

Other Activity: Both OSPR were feeding themselves during the entire time I was observing. One OSPR flapped its wings and lifted off a few inches above the nest before settling back down.

General Comments: Three ospreys seen total, only one on nest. Appeared to stand up but might have landed while I watched other 2 that were perched, one on higher perch very near platform, one on low perch nearby. Think those were adults, couldn't tell about one in nest. Light bad and far for my equipment! Need a scope...
