For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Jake continues to eat fish on the nest. I have not seen the father for a couple of days now. I am making the assumption that he is feeding himself now. Will keep looking to see if the father appears with a fish. Jake had some competition. Another young osprey flew in and tried to steal Jake’s fish. Jake was “chest bumping” the intruder around the nest until it finally flew off. Great job Jake!

General Comments: This is new nest started along patmos rd on a phone pole. Rowley light dept removed nest but it is rebuilt again now. Just a house=keeping pair. Plan is to install new platform nearby for 2022.
