For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 58 Degrees, Sunny, light breeze

Other Activity: When I arrived the osprey was active on the next, sometimes sticking its head down into the next with its but in the air. Then it perched on the side of the nest and stretched its wings for a bit. It then flew off for a few seconds and landed back on the nest. After that it settled back down on the nest and remained that way for the final 10 minutes.

Observation Method: On foot with spotting scope.
