For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Haven’t seen the neat empty for 3 days after 1 last effort to build nest higher to protect her from harsh wind. Gusts 30-40 on regular basis. How do I know? My screens auto retreat at 30.

Other Activity: Initially the nest was empty and then 1 osprey flew in. I didn't see any other osprey in the area.

Weather Conditions: 68 degrees, clear, 10 mph SW

Other Activity: Female is sitting deep in the new nest on Platform 1 and the male has been bringing more nesting material to the nest. Yesterday a big stick and today some soft material from the edge of the river. Most of the time the male is perched nearby on one of the other platforms or on a nearby utility pole. He sometimes brings fish to the female on the nest.

General Comments: Everything seems very settled with only occasional fly-by visits by other osprey.

General Comments: it looks like either the platform has been modified, or very large sections of cardboard/plywood have blown up against the lower sections; the male had often perched on the upright posts there, but no longer has access to them
