For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Adult and chick remained perched. Chick moved around a bit and spread its wings once, but no flapping.

Other Activity: One of the fledglings was perched on the nest post and 1 was down in the nest. After I paddled away I heard them calling and both were in the nest facing the same direction. I couldn't see another osprey coming, but thought that food might be on the way. I wasn't sure that both were fledglings until I got home and looked at photos I had taken.

Other Activity: Initially the fledgling was perched in the nest. It then took off and flew out and over the marsh, and then farther down the other way and back around. When I had paddled a distance away, it was back on the nest.

Other Activity: An adult and a fledgling were perched on the poles by the hut. They stayed there as I paddled by and over to Brophy. They flew off when the Essex tour boat came in close.

Other Activity: I observed an empty nest (bitter sweet), but 3 birds on the tidal flat during the ultra low tide this morning. It was either one adult and 2 fledglings or 3 fledglings, though I think there were only 2 chicks, but I may be wrong.
Observation Method: On foot with binos from Independence Park.
