For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey in nest platform. Only one nestling sighted. Nest includes multiple dangling embellishments. It also looks a little bit in disarray at the leading edge from this viewpoint. Male perch below platform on support stake.
Observation Method: Parked in Rt. 107 pull off area and walked to river's edge.

Weather Conditions: Sunny, 74°, 6-10 MPH NE
Other Activity: Female on nest. Two nestlings sighted. Male came in with a fish, dropped it, and after less than 2 minutes took off towards the ocean. Of the two nestlings, one is quite a bit larger and more developed than its younger sibling.
Observation Method: Started viewing from traffic circle. Then drove to the top of the MBTA parking garage for a full view of this disk/nest. Excellent viewing into nest!
General Comments: This disks is located next to a very active traffic circle, as well as a huge and very active new High School construction site!

Other Activity: Female and two chicks in nest. Female did a couple flyabouts. Chicks or nestlings getting big! One quite a bit bigger than other. Hope the second will keep up. Eldest flapping its wings. I’d guess five weeks given the growth.

General Comments: Busy morning for them. He on nest perch, she on nest’s edge. He tried to land on her back. She wasn’t having it. He gave up and went to far perch. He spend much time there. More chick movement but neat still too high to see much. She moved a few more sticks I saw Annie do this as chicks needed more room.
