For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: There was one osprey in the nest and I prefer to believe she was sitting on her eggs. Hard to tell, but that’s what I (want) to believer. There were 4 other flyers in the area. One was definitely an Osprey but the others were too far away t identify

Weather Conditions: 61 degrees and sunny

Other Activity: Again, the continuing saga of a male with two nests...This female is still sitting on eggs and male is observed near platform #2 Another male came flying in and #1 male went to his appropriate platform. The male did a quick sweep by then flew off, with the female in #2 calling Not sure if it could have been a suitor or not. One thing I do note...she is always sitting on the nest when I am there.

Weather Conditions: 65 degrees, cloudy w/blue sky patches, breezy, nice

Other Activity: Both Osprey perched on the nest. One (w/necklace) was perched on the nest perch, the entire visit. The second Osprey was perched on the edge of the nest itself and flew off at 10:50 AM and did not return to the nest during my visit.

Observation Method: on foot, down the grass road, onto the rocky road across from the nest

General Comments: A pair of Canadian geese swam within 15 feet of the viewing platform with 11 goslings between them

Weather Conditions: 58 degrees Wind NNW ~ 5-10mph. Sunny

Other Activity: Adult Osprey perched on top of tower several feet above nest. The bird was fluffing its wings but it did not move to nest or fly off.

Observation Method: On foot at the end of March St in Salem. Scope and binoculars. I was able to get a photo.

General Comments: I did not see any other Osprey or activity in the nest.
