For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 56 degrees. W NNW ~ 10 mph. Sunny
Other Activity: One adult perched on nest and other adult perched on boat nearby. The adult on the boat stayed there for over 10 mins before flying off. Did not observe he/she returning. I was able to take photos.
Observation Method: On foot. On jetty at Independence park with scope and binoculars.
General Comments: The boat is anchored by the buoy and there were no people on board.

Other Activity: one osprey sitting on nest, other perched on edge, very alert, 3rd one flew over nest, coming lower near nest, circled back and did same thing 2 more times then flew off. I assume the 3rd one was an intruder wanting something?
