For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: At first the nestlings were not visible, but the female hopped down into the nest and started calling and the 2 nestlings popped up as the male flew in and dropped off a fish. The nestlings are both close to adult size. We did not see the female feed the nestlings.

Other Activity: The nestling was lying down in the nest next to the female, just occasionally lifting its head. It is possible there was a second nestling next to it, but I couldn't confirm it.

Other Activity: The nestling that was visible is very close to adult size now, but has an orange/reddish eye, a buffy breast and nape and speckled back. When we passed by the nest later, on the trip back, it appeared there was a second nestling with just the head visible. I could not see it in any of the photos I took though, so I did not include it.
