For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: 1 osprey immediately flew off of nest when I started to observe and did not return. I could only make out 2 nestlings. So much smaller than New 11 & 12. Not active.

General Comments: One adult was perched on the nest and I saw a wing come up from the nest so it was probably a chick trying its wings.

Weather Conditions: Warm (~70), calm, no clouds. High tide.
Other Activity: I observed what I call "flight school". Both adults were flying around the nest with fish. One flew away, but the other (assume it was the F), kept flying in a figure-8 around the nest, then landing. She kept taking off, doing a small loop, chirping, and then landing. She did this at least 5 or 6 times.
Observation Method: On foot at Independence Park jetty.
