For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Considerable activity yesterday and today. Many new sticks added to nest. Occasionally other osprey around. At times a pair on the nest. Periodic feeding observed.

Other Activity: Bob and Pauline sat in the nest and watched a spectacular sunrise this morning. In between fishing, they are working on the nest material.

Other Activity: One on nest, one appeared hovering, rising, swooping near nest. It landed on the nest. Then a third appeared and tried to land too but did not succeed and left. Then the second left.

General Comments: Very quick visit on way by to if a second osprey had arrived. One osprey was again perched on the nest that was not used last year.

Weather Conditions: Overcast mid 40s

Other Activity: Bob and Pauline have established their daily routine. They meet at the nest from 6am to 615am. Then one will go fishing and the other one will do nest guard duty.. They swap jobs all day long and then do their end of day meet at the nest. The fishing appears to be plentiful. They attempted to mate but stopped to go back out fishing.
