General Comments: Ollie arrived yesterday, almost a week later than usual. The eagles have been on the nest from time to time all winter but it appears that Ollie has won the battle again this year.

at: Salisbury
Number of Adults Visible: 2
Number of Nestlings Visible: 0
Number of Fledglings Visible: 0
Weather Conditions: 50 degrees, light SE. partly sunny
Other Activity: One female osprey was present off and on all day and engaged in lots of perching on Platforms 1 and 2 and some nest-building on Platform 1. At about 4 pm a male osprey appeared carrying a small fish and approached the perched female. As he came near she flew up to challenge him and tried to chase him away. She perched on a utility pole and the male came close again carrying the fish and showing it off to the female while making a "come to dinner" call. He landed on Platform 3 with the fish. This is the platform where the residents usually feed. Nevertheless, the female took off and chased him away. She was not interested in him or his fish.
Observation Method: from back yard
General Comments: This looked like an attempt by a new male to usurp the male who spent all day yesterday with the female and engaged in perching together as well as nest building by both. For some reason that male has been absent all day. They certainly behaved as a mated pair yesterday.
