General Comments: Happy to report both osprey were present today after not seeing or hearing any the last two days. Presumably one was deep in the nest those times but I watched for an hour Wednesday and 30 minutes yesterday and the other one was not around. Maybe the male is going further for fish than in past years as there are a number of Eagle nests in the area. I believe the male was on the nest today and was silent until a hawk flew nearby. The female came and landed on the nest and traded places with the male who flew to nearby pole and then took off toward river. The hawk has a lot of damaged feathers. Not sure if there have been skirmishes with the osprey or others. No sign of the interloper from last week. Hopefully all is well but another watcher and I both feel there is a sense of unrest as opposed to the last two years.
