For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: Very humid, mid 80s, large rain storm came through in the afternoon

Other Activity: Not much wing beating activity. Pauline shaded the chicks most of the day. They continue to eat a lot. They look extremely healthy.

Other Activity: Male perched /female w/two chicks on nest.plenty of flapping wings. Assume would fledge within a week.

Observation Method: Walked out to platform with scope and binoculars.

General Comments: I wanted to see the nestlings - w/o the webcam. Great to have them up and about!

Observation Method: Access via the rear of the CVS parking lot and walked to the rear of the MBTA Repair Facility

Weather Conditions: hot, calm, muggy

Other Activity: I observed at first two birds in the nest watching the adult flying. That bird was doing what I think of as "flying lessons" - flying low and near the nest, calling. One bird in the nest hopped and flew a little bit close to the nest, then came back. One stayed in the nest. Eventually 2 flew off and one remained. I am still unsure whether we have 1 or 2 fledglings. I suspect 2 and one is just a little younger than the other. Will check again in the morning.

General Comments: The female was perched on the nest with one chick. I didn't see the second chick.

Other Activity: Adult perched on edge of nest, flew off and circled and came back to nest and was calling. Then left again circled higher and longer than first time, calling, before coming back to nest.

Observation Method: foot

General Comments: Wanted to go later when cooler and might have seen more activity. Think quiet because so hot.
