For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: osprey on nearby perch. Deep nest, could not see if osprey was in nest, no movement, but she could easily have been nestled down in nest and I couldn't even see a white head! Don't know if she was there or not :(

Weather Conditions: 74, calm,clear sky

Other Activity: Osprey perched in tree on island north of platform. Close examination via scope revealed second Osprey on nest [more material than last time] sitting very low in ‘incubation pose. Male descended from tree perch to fly over river close to nest. Then landed on bundle of reeds floating down river and stayed with “raft’ for about4-5 minutes as it drifted slowly down river. Then flew off. Female behaviour could be ‘playing incubation’ ?
