For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: one bird on post feeding itself, then flew to nest, moved some sticks around, then just remained perched; second bird flew in and perched on marsh grasses, also feeding itself visitor said that earlier he had seen a bird in the nest incubating - we observed for 30 minutes, but never could see that

Observation Method: Pulling into the UPS distribution center near the back left corner. Required spotting scope.

General Comments: Due to the distance and only able to view the nest itself, I was unable to see if there was an male in the general area

General Comments: The female was incubating and the male was on the perch near the nest platform.

Weather Conditions: 67 degrees, cloudy, wind gusts

Other Activity: an interloper (+1) came by as one rested and preened on the tower. and the second was on the nest. +1 got rise out of the bird on the nest. then along came the preener to take care of business and drive it off. It really got so near the nest....the one on the nest raised herself up onto the edge of the nest along with her mate landed there. Quite a show!
