For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: Male perched and intruder tried to land but discouraged by male. Intruder repeated five times and then left. Could only see faint spot of white in the nest and assume it was head of female incubating.

Other Activity: Female remained in incubating position. They had started much later than other pairs.

General Comments: Salem Harbor Channel Marker R2 had much better viewing. Both were on the nest and female rose at one point and a nestling was visible. Female resettled in a higher position and was more visible.

Other Activity: One Osprey siting in nest As we came up to the nest second Osprey flew overhead with large fish and started feeding itself on a nearby tree! Osprey in nest was very vocal the entire time other bird was eating. Maybe she was waiting to be fed. She did not leave the nest.

Weather Conditions: 85 degrees; partly cloudy; light breeze; low tide
Other Activity: Female's head just barely visible over the top of the nest. After a while she flew up on top of the nest perch. She called out several times, and then went back down to the nest (with her head just barely visible again).
Observation Method: In my car in 2 locations with binoculars on Middle Road and also next to the Parker River dock at the Alfond Coastal Science Center at the Governor's Academy.
General Comments: I heard another Osprey call back in response to the female, but I was unable to see where the second Osprey was located.

Other Activity: Millie was incubating eggs. It did not look like there were chicks hatched by the way she was sitting. Parker was chased for a while by red wing blackbirds! First the male then the female took over. He was perched down on the stand in the marsh near the blackbird and must have flown near a nest. Suddenly they were on his tail and almost appeared to be landing on his back mid flight.
