For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: An adult was perched in the nest, at the edge. As we watched first 1 little nestling head and long neck came up, then went down, then a second came up and went down, and then both came up and went down. The second adult was perched in the marsh near the hut.

Other Activity: I observed 1 osprey on the edge of the nest, looking into the nest, and also in the nest but not "incubating" per se. I'm wondering if there are chicks, but I didn't see any heads. Will look more this weekend to see if I can get a better look or longer observation.

Weather Conditions: 69 degrees, cloudy, light wind from the south ~ 5MPH

Other Activity: One Osprey was visible in the nest moving about a bit but mostly only the birds head could be seen. It appeared to be busying itself with activity in the nest and around 710a another adult came up out of the nest and flew off. He/she did not reappear during the time I was observing.

Observation Method: On foot at Salem Ferry pier with binoculars. Observed from several angles and locations on the pier.
