For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: It appears chicks have hatched!!! :) Parker was perched down on the stand in the marsh. Millie appeared to be standing to the side of the nest feeding chicks. She definitely was not incubating down in the nest as I’ve seen so far. Exciting change of events! It wasn’t quite high tide and the nest is big so I could not see into it. No idea how many chicks may have hatched yet.

General Comments: In the last day or so, it has begun to seem as if perhaps eggs have hatched. More movement by email. Male continues to bring fish regularly. All signs point to successful breeding so far.
