For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: One was on the perch that is on the nest platform. The other was standing on the nest eating. I couldn't tell if she might be feeding chicks.

Other Activity: No osprey were observed on nest. I looked at it from the pier from several angles. It seemed the nest was more sparse than it has been in the past. Really not that visible which was strange as it was clear.
Observation Method: On foot on ferry pier with binoculars.

Other Activity: One adult osprey was visible in nest. It continued to raise and lower its head during the entire observation. No other osprey were visible in or around nest.
Observation Method: In vehicle at the end of Planters st with binoculars.

Other Activity: One adult osprey in nest. The Osprey raised and lowered his/her head repeatedly. We did think we saw an Osprey flying over near the bridge but could not confirm and it did not return to the nest

Other Activity: Female was sitting in the center of the nest, and did not move from this spot as if she was incubating an egg or two.

General Comments: The male was nowhere in sight.
