For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Chick was on the marsh post. Father swooped in with some food and dropped it in the nest. Chick flew to the nest to eat

Other Activity: The chick just fledged. He helicoptered up and the wind helped push him in the air. After 2 wobbly circles around the nest, he landed on the marsh perch. His father was not at the nest at the time.

Weather Conditions: 70 degrees. Cloudy, sprinkling rain. Fairly strong breeze at times.

Other Activity: One of the nestlings has fledged! He or she was on another pole when I arrived. The second smaller one was practicing on the nest getting good height! One of the parents brought in a fish. The fledgling was flying all around the park and adjacent stadium area. Doing a great job! So good to see.

Other Activity: Female and 3 chicks on nest. In the last few days the chicks have been waving their wings and at least two have lifted off from the nest by about a foot. I have not observed any flights yet.
