Other Activity: What a surprise to find the adult F on the nest with 2(!!!) nestlings. One was clearly ready to fledge. S/he was hop-flapping a lot, very close to the edge. As I was watching, I was sure she would fledge. The other one was smaller, so maybe younger, but still big enough to be standing in the nest and on the edge. Both of the nestlings looked big and healthy.
Observation Method: On foot
General Comments: I have a couple of very high-res videos of the hop-flapping and I'll send them to you.

Nest Name:
SAL-01 - Rings Island Platforms
Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Osprey Perched
Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2026-07-30
12:30 PM to 12:45 PM
at: Salisbury
Number of Adults Visible: 1
Number of Nestlings Visible: 1
Number of Fledglings Visible: 2
Weather Conditions: 70 degrees 10mph NW Cloudy
Other Activity: I saw the first flights of two of the chicks from the nest platform to platform 2. They flew very slowly and both had somewhat awkward landings on platform 2. Both of them are still perched together there, while the smallest chick remains on the list and shows little interest in flying. The female has been perched on platform 3 throughout. I have a feeling that she left the nest platform to encourage the larger chicks to take off.
Observation Method: from bedroom window
