For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 84 degrees; clear with haze at the edges; windy; low tide

Other Activity: Male sitting on the separate pole perch, and facing the nest platform.

Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.

General Comments: Female sitting in the center and deep in the nest. Only her head visible.

Other Activity: One osprey in nearby marsh eating a fish. 2nd osprey in nest but took off as we approached to check us out and then returned to the nest when we left.

General Comments: Saw the female feeding two chicks! Could be more but o my saw two moving around behind her. I think the male had just come in with a fish he was on the nest with her then moved to the perch behind it when she started feeding.

Weather Conditions: 70 degrees, 10 mph W, clear

Other Activity: I heard the female on the nest give a begging call and then saw the male land on the nest with a fish. He perched briefly and then flew off. The female then started to eat the fish and to take small pieces and bend over to feed at least one and possibly two chicks. No chick was visible, but the female was clearly both feeding herself and at least one chick.

Observation Method: from bedroom window

General Comments: I just returned from a long trip out of the country and have not been able to make any reports until now. Looking good on Ring's Island.

Weather Conditions: 74, breezy, with stringer gusts, mostly sunny, just past high tide.

Other Activity: As I arrived an adult was landing on the nest. Another was already there. They perched on the edge facing one another. Between them in the nest, only briefly visible, a tiny head. I couldn't be 100% sure. At one both adults left briefly and returned. One perched on nest edge, facing away; the other on pylon top.

Other Activity: One adult flew in with a fish to join the other. I got a good view on one nestling and I think there are two but only caught a glimpse
