For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Both adults in nest. One osprey took flight as we approached and a good sized nestling popped up next to the adult. When we got closer the 2nd adult took flight and left the nestling alone for a couple minutes.

Other Activity: We found a treetop nest on what I believe is Long Island only a very short distance from the Round Island platform. There were 2 osprey on this nest. I will send an email to Dave to further explain.

Other Activity: One adult was on a nearby tree and the other was in the nest with the chicks. The chicks were feeding themselves.

Other Activity: Adult perched and 2 young also. The larger of the young did vigorous flapping and raised a couple inches.

Other Activity: Female remained perched and the young must have been below. Only one was seen when the wing was slightly raised.

General Comments: Should have mentioned before that I am unable to specify AM or PM. I am using Edge on Windows 11.

Other Activity: Male on rocks below, female on nest with 3 young ones. The fledgling flew down to the rocks below and later flew around the nest and returned. Later, both the female and the fledgling flew around and returned at different times.
