For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: As we paddled toward the Babson area, an osprey flew past with a fish and landed on the duck hut and started eating. When we passed the duck it, it left and flew towards the Babson nest, but landed on the post next to the nest. It started feeding itself again while the female in the nest called out softly. It never brought the fish over while we observed. The nestling in this nest is significantly smaller than the Dean and Brophy young.

Other Activity: Initially 1 adult was perched on the nest and a fledgling was perched at the duck hut. The fledgling then flew over to the nest. The adult left and flew over to Dean Island. As we paddled towards the Dean nest, an osprey flew over to Brophy and landed. It isn't clear if it was an adult or another fledgling.
