For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Female perched on nest, nestlings actively moved their wings, then rested below. Haven't seen male in some time.

Other Activity: Both adults and the nestling were perched on the nest. Nestling did some extensive wing flapping and then retired. Size was surprising and wing span was great. The other two adults were on marker for Little Aquavitae.
Observation Method: By scope from Fort Pickering on Winter Island
General Comments: Little Aquavitae has a small amount of nesting material that has been recently added. We may have a new nest next year.

Other Activity: Male and female on perch. Male was feeding
Observation Method: Bushwhacked out to the edge of the marsh and set up tripod with scope. I'll have a well worn path to the open marsh.
General Comments: On prior visits, there has been a fair amount of osprey activity out in these marshes. Many fly through this particular area. None were to be seen today.

Observation Method: Walked out too far end of the large parking lot and viewed with binoculars. Should hang some Christmas lights after that bad boy.

Observation Method: Pulled off of Rt. 107. Cut through open fencing and used scope & binoculars for viewing.
General Comments: This area is now completely trashed. Way more than it used to be. It now has a file cabinet, TV, mattress, a ton of junk tossed around! What a shame!
