For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: No birds on nest—fledged?? But two birds (appear tb adults, but at a distance) perched n marsh to right of platform—1 quite close and 1 at least 45 degrees to right, so could be unrelated…..

Other Activity: Perched at the top of the nest. Nest has been built up to the top of the center pole. No sign of young chicks.

Observation Method: By scope from area of lighthouse on Winter Island.

General Comments: Visibility was great today. Haven't seen the nest this well in a long time.

Weather Conditions: 69 degrees, wind SSE 7 mph, sunny.

Other Activity: Mother was out of the nest on the perch for a good while, then went back to the nest. The chick is resting a lot, but ramping up its efforts to fly by spreading its wings more often.

Observation Method: On foot with scope.

Weather Conditions: Sunny/70°/11–17 - NE

Other Activity: Observed three nestlings. One adult perched on transmission tower. Right above the nest. A second Osprey observed on the right hand transmission tower. And a third also observed at the closest of the three transmission towers. This osprey observed flying overhead at the Gibson point parking area.

Observation Method: Parked in Gibson Point lot to the right of the condominium structure. Used scope for observation.

General Comments: It seems very clearly that these three nestlings over and my son is have yet to fledge.
