For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: The oldest fledgling was missing for 2 days. I began to wonder if it had left for the season. The youngest fledgling was receiving regular meal deliveries from Bob. A tumbling, erratic osprey, carrying a fish appeared out of nowhere. The bird was attempting to drop off this fish into the nest. It was then I realized it was the eldest fledgling bringing in food for his sibling. The fish landed in the nest and the fledgling celebrated his feat by doing victory laps around the marsh. About an hour later, Bob brought in more fish and both fledglings ate.

Other Activity: Two nestlings out on a perch to the west. One adult on top of WebCam. Based upon its size, assuming it wa a male.
Observation Method: Walked out to viewing platform - with binoculars. Checked webcam and not other osprey were visible.
General Comments: I was in contact with Sean Riley and he indicated that the nestlings fledge last week. They were still in the next on July 25th.
