For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One adult was in the nest feeding. There were 2 osprey flying over Choate Island and 1 flying low in front of it. All were calling. It's possible they were fledglings from Brophy, but couldn't confirm.

Other Activity: One osprey on edge of nest. No other birds visible. He/she jumped up and down and flapped wings multiple times but did not fly from the nest during observation. The bird did not look like a full size adult and it appeared to be a fledgling trying to fly.
Observation Method: On foot on ferry dock with binoculars.

Other Activity: Two adults perched in nest busy with something in the nest (perhaps they were eating). One small osprey perched on tower several rungs below nest. Did not see him/her fly down there or return to the nest.
Observation Method: Vehicle with binoculars at the end of March St and March St court.

Other Activity: Two birds present on nest-one female adult and one fledgling who stood the whole time bent forward rather than in an upright stance like the female.No sign of either bird eating.

Weather Conditions: ~ 74 degrees, partly sunny, light breeze (increasing)
Other Activity: One adult osprey was observed flying around the harbor and circling the nest. He/she did not return to the next or dive for fish that I observed. One fledgling appeared to be on the edge of the nest flapping his/her wings and also just observing. He/she did not fly off the nest. Then the bird went back down into the nest and only the head was visible
Observation Method: On foot in independence park with binoculars and the observation scope in the park.
