For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: When I arrived one Osprey was feeding outside of the nest on corner of the light structure. After twenty minutes or so they hopped over into the nest, and moments later the other osprey arrived back with a fish for themself. They landed on the light post to the right and ate their dinner.
Observation Method: Viewed from vehicle in cvs parking lot
General Comments: Accidentally submitted an entry before I was done typing, disregard the one from five minutes ago!!

Other Activity: Female osprey sitting on a high new accumulation of nesting material. The male was sitting on the marsh grass beyond the separate post perch.
Observation Method: On foot with binoculars.
General Comments: The female flapped up onto the nest perch when the male flew up onto the nest for a brief time. He then flew off over the Essex River.
