For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 53 degrees; moderate wind; high tide; cloudy with intermittent showers

Other Activity: Saw 1 osprey flying over the Parker River, as if possibly looking for a fish. It did not alight on the platform.

Observation Method: In my car and on foot with binoculars.

General Comments: The nesting material on the platform looks to be at the same level as during my last observation and the same as last year.

Weather Conditions: 47 degrees. Cloudy light wind

Other Activity: Female was on perch pole and male on saltmarsh by creek. Male seemed to be battling with a turkey vulture (possibly scrapping over food?) Vulture flew off. At one point, female left perch to chase away crows, but returned to perch pole.
