For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 85F, SE 8mph, ptly cldy

Other Activity: Male was perched on his favorite boat spreader, female perched on nest and young perched at times. Male left. Female flew off and circled around nest a few times. When she returned, two of the young did some wing exercise. Male returned with partly eaten fish and went to his spreader then brought it to the nest. Female ate and fed the young.

Other Activity: After laying low after yesterday’s banding, the chicks are up and walking around the nest, and are very alert. Jack and Ivy have calmed down and have gone back to their usual roles of guarding the nest and bringing in the fish.

Weather Conditions: 89℉ Clear; very occasional breeze

Other Activity: One adult & both fledglings on rim of nest for lots of time; adult left & brought back food; adult ate first & youngsters crowded around & seemed to take own food; then adult perched on nearby dead tree, almost like a statue; one youngster stood on rim of nest & flapped wings several times, at times lifting up off nest, only to fall back again; this one really almost flew; other fledgling sunk back down into nest & never came back up (Must have been very tired!); finally active fledgling went down into nest & stayed there; other adult not seen at all

General Comments: Saw three large herons - grayish blue and also a deer!

Other Activity: One adult Ospr came and went a few times, flapping wings while on nest; fledglings watched, but hard to see from my angle. I concluded that the adult was demonstrating how to fly, and the fledglings were huddled in the nest, although one seemed to be following the flight of the adult.

Other Activity: 1 adult in marsh feeding next to its perch stick. One adult in the nest with the nestlings and then flew off up the Saugus River. 2 nestling spotted sitting upright in nest, sometime vocalizing loudly
