For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: male was on post perch feeding self, then flew to nest a couple of times with more nesting material; female was feeding chicks - could see two for the first time :-)

Weather Conditions: 65 degF, light wind from N, 10% cloud cover

Other Activity: lots of drama: two adults each brought in a large fish, almost at the same time, then suddenly there was a third adult on the platform; the male Osprey took off after the intruder, and they duked it out at the edge of a creek, flying up then rapidly right down at the other, almost head first; the female remained at the nest, feeding herself, and possibly the chicks were also feeding themselves

Observation Method: on foot

General Comments: also drama: both adults perched on the platform, calling; then a third bird flew in, and the male took off and chased it away; it was possibly the same intruder that I saw at Cross Farm Hill - that one flew north when it left; after things quieted down the two chicks made themselves visible

Other Activity: This is the first time this summer that I have seen this platform clearly. It is also the first time that I have seen convincing evidence of activity on that platform.

Other Activity: Saw up to 5 Osprey soaring over and around Great Bank and Choate Island 3 nestlings were seen on nest and one adult flew on and off of the nest during the observation
