For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: I heard intruder alarm calls and saw an adult osprey being chased by another adult while two ospreys (adult and fledgling) were perched on the nest and two other fledglings were perched on platforms 2 and 3. The intruder circled the area, shadowed from above by the local adult female and eventually flew off toward the northeast.

General Comments: It is clear that all three of this year's fledglings are flying now. The nest is completely empty occasionally.

Other Activity: 2 adults and 2 nestlings perched, then 3rd nestling came up. One adult left and retd with a large twig. Took some time to settle the twig. The nest seemed very crowded. One nestling spread its wings but it may have only been to regain balance. None of the 3 seemed anxious to fly.

Other Activity: None on nest when we arrived. Some time later both fledglings returned to the nest. One on the nest, the other on the perch above the nest.

Other Activity: 1 Osprey perched on the nest for most of the visit, then flew off, around the nest area twice and up over the trees to the left.........

Weather Conditions: 83 degrees, hot, sunny, no clouds, no wind, beautiful, getting close to high tide, sun sheen/shimmer across the marsh
Other Activity: 1 adult Osprey perched (tall) on the edge of the nest, at least 2 fledglings on the nest as well. The O's were moving around, no fly offs. People are out enjoying the water.

Other Activity: 1 Osprey on the perch next to the nest, in a drying wings posture, 1 Osprey perched on the marsh by Sawyer's Creek off to the right of the nest area. Quiet on the marsh.........
