For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: 2 osprey on nest as I entered the creek. One appeared to be incubating, the other was perched on the nest. As I got closer, both osprey perched on the side of the nest and then one took off to check me out. As I moved away they both went back on the nest in their original positions.

Other Activity: The pair were on their respective marsh perches when a third osprey showed up and swooped toward the nest. The first two osprey quickly flew up and both got in the nest and started to flap their wings at the intruder. At one point, one osprey flew out of the nest and dive bombed the third osprey. They were successful in chasing the third osprey off and now both are preening while sitting in the nest.

General Comments: Either Ollie or Olivia was perched on the nest. We are certain at this point that there are no chicks in spite of the fact that Olivia was incubating for several weeks. Both Ollie & Olivia are around, often not on the nest or one or both will be on the nest.

Other Activity: Early morning, The female was on the perch as she has been for the past week. Around noon, when the rain storm came in, she flew away for the afternoon. At 7:30 pm, both osprey returned to the platform. The male began moving sticks and repairing any damage from the rain storm and the female brought in a fish,
