For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Ollie was on the nest eating & Olivia was incubating. Then he changed places with her and she flew off. A short while later they were both back. She has been incubating since at least 4/18.

Other Activity: Female is sitting deep in the nest. Male was perched on the canoe rack below the nest and flew off, shortly bringing back a small fish to the female. A few minutes later the male brought a bunch of grass and reeds to help build the nest.

General Comments: yesterday afternoon the contest for the nest continued as 4 intruding osprey were flying around the nest, the female stayed on the nest and the male chased and screamed at the intruders for about an hour before they left
