For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Two adult osprey perched on nest. Another pair of osprey arrived, one of which swooped down over the nest and was immediately set upon by one of the two nest dwellers. The fourth osprey circled higher overhead before also being chased off by the original nesting pair. No nestlings visible.

Other Activity: 2 adults inside nest with 2 chicks. One adult flew down to perch on wooden stake in the marsh near the nest. Chicks are getting big and look to be feeding

Other Activity: You can see 2 fledglings from the south side of the platform. Unfortunately there is a dead Osprey in the north bound lane of 107. I drove by 3 times. It looks too brown to be a greater black back gull.
