For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: A pair have been here on and off all day. This morning one was on the platform flapping its wings while the other one was flying around the marsh. A solitary one has been sitting on the marsh perch for at least an hour.

Other Activity: Observed bird 1 sitting on nest and I waited to see bird 2. After about 20 minutes, bird 1 stood up and bird 2 stood up from nest as well (presumably, having been there the entire time). One bird (unclear which) briefly flew to a nearby perch. Then both sat on nest again.

Other Activity: Two adult OSPRs on the nest, fooling around, perching, moving etc. After one left, the other seemed to settle down to incubate. Not sure if they have any eggs or if they're just house keeping. ??

Weather Conditions: 67 degrees, cloudy, very low tide, some breezes on the marsh, some sun breaking through clouds later

Other Activity: 1 Osprey incubating on the nest, 2nd Osprey fishing the creek off to the right of the nest. 11:45 the fishing O brought a fish to the marsh perch - feeds self, then flies off with fish at 11:50 when a 3rd Osprey soars overhead. O with fish flies to the nest, the incubating O flew off and later brings something back to the nest, aerates & settles back on the eggs, while the fishing O does a fly about the nest and settles on the marsh perch drying out wings at 12:15.

Observation Method: on foot, down on the marsh

General Comments: 2 other Ospreys were soaring in the distance over by Plum Island.
