For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey flew in and landed on the nest while we were observing this nest from Farm Creek. Unable to determine if it was an adult or a juvenile. It stayed perched on the nest the whole time we were there.

Other Activity: The fledgling was on the nest perch with a fish in it's talons. As we approached, it took off with the fish and circled over the marsh until we left the creek.

Other Activity: 1 osprey flew up to nest. Other 2 osprey are perched very close together on a piece of driftwood in the grassy part of the marsh.

Other Activity: One osprey on the nest perch. It appeared to be the nestling. It took off as I approached in the creek, but stayed circling in the area.

Other Activity: 1 osprey way far out in the marsh on a piece of driftwood. 2 in the #1 nest. Looks like theyre feeding. 1 perched in the #2 nest platform.

Other Activity: After several days of no activity, a female osprey appeared on the marsh perch. I don’t believe this bird was one of the pair that was here all summer.

Weather Conditions: clear / cool

Other Activity: Only male remains, female has departed. Final report , nest failed after long incubation period. The pair built up the nest alot after the eggs failed. Hopefully next year is successful, clearly this was a young pair. Eventually tolerated the MBTA rail yard pair, able to coexist in the reservation together.
