For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 76F, S at 10mph, ptly cldy
Other Activity: Adult eating, 3 young on nest seemed content. One left, flew past the nest a couple times and didn't return. The smallest picked at the fish that the adult was eating then flapped a bit then left the nest. It continued to do short flights and returns. The medium sized young one stayed perched.
Observation Method: on foot by scope
General Comments: It would seem the mid sized would likely have flown already but I can't say I saw it. Also, looking from different vantage point showed an osprey on the ground below the nest but view was not adequate to see if it was an adult or the largest young one.

General Comments: One osprey was on the nest, 2 in a nearby tree & 1 in another tree. I haven't seen all 5 at the same time for a week or so. It looked like Ollie in the tree so maybe Olivia has left already.
