NextGen Committee

The NextGen Committee brings together young leaders and changemakers to connect, collaborate, and advance Greenbelt’s mission to protect land, strengthen climate resilience, and expand access to nature across Essex County.

Engaging younger generations in the Greenbelt mission is essential to our ongoing success, bringing fresh energy and bold ideas to all our conservation initiatives. The NextGen Committee isn’t just planting trees — although they do that, too! — they’re connecting with like-minded people and partner organizations across the region, supporting local land, trail, and climate projects, and helping Greenbelt stay relevant, creative, and focused on the future.

The NextGen Committee hosts an array of events, engagement opportunities, special volunteer programs, and more! Members also support Greenbelt through volunteerism, donations, and community engagement efforts.

In addition, members enjoy exclusive social events and gain access to mentorship opportunities with the Greenbelt Board of Directors, providing valuable connections and hands-on experience in conservation leadership.
