For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: Upon arrival we observed 2 ospreys. One moving about in the nest and the second osprey sitting on the edge of the nest. Due to the angle and distance to the nest we cannot determine what is inside the nest.

Other Activity: The Osprey was feeding itself briefly when I arrived, then she settled down on the nest. She doesn't mind the boats passing by closely in the channel.

Other Activity: Osprey on nest, very low profile, head only visible. Second adult flies in, perches on post -female necklace visible. Couple of minutes later male in nest flies off west up creek [v low tide] Female returns to nest -also very low profile. Male returns to nest with food. They share. Male circles platform a couple of times. Flies in picks up something from marsh by pole 's base; drops it into nest. Leaves southward after ascending hundreds of feet.

Other Activity: Female Millie stayed on nest, got up stretched her wings then settled herself back down on her eggs. She suddenly got up and flew around a bit and we noticed the bald eagle was flying overhead. She did settle back down Parker was no where to be seen. We have noticed when we visit at high tide he is less likely to be at the nest.
