General Comments: I went out to the nest with a ladder today (June 24). One adult was around the nest, but he took off on approach. No effort to defend the nest, and sure enough, there were no chicks to be seen. Mary Murray told me she spotted the one chick at least a month ago (I only spotted it a week or so ago); that doesn't seem to me enough time to fledge, but you would know better. No sign of carnage or any "raid" in the nest.
