Other Activity: Both bird 1 and bird 2 were perched in nearby snag when I arrived. After about 15 minutes, bird 1 began vocalizing in the direction of the nest . Bird 1 appeared to be female, as evidenced by size and coloration. Bird 1 flew to nest, followed by bird 2, who landed briefly on bird 1's back. They did not appear to copulate. Both birds then took turns flying low in area and bringing back nest material. Bird 1 mostly brought sod-type materials, while bird 2 mostly brought sticks. Both arranged them on nest. At one point during this activity, bird 2 began vocalizing while bird 2 was out gathering. When bird 1 returned, another adult began flying around the nest area. The pair both vocalized. Two chicks observed, although it was difficult to see them both at the same time.
