For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Two adults and one nestling on nest when I came into the creek. One adult flew off and circled me until I left the area. Still only saw one nestling.

Other Activity: Jack and Ivy continue to do a great job chasing off a persistent third Osprey and fighting off the rain storms by forming a virtual umbrella with their wings.One of the chicks is large, active and very adventurous. This chick frequently goes to the edge of the nest to look around and is very aggressive in begging for food. The second chick is considerably smaller and less active.

General Comments: Attempted to observe nest from Misery cove at 09:00 however foggy conditions prevented that. Plan on land visit soon.

General Comments: I was fishing yesterday near Shad Creek and saw two ospreys perched together on the nest built on a large driftwood tree trunk west of Shad Creek. No nestlings visible and the pair flew away together leaving the nest vacant. 2020/07/01
